Before I Leave...
Well, it's late Thursday/early Friday and I decided that I should probably throw an update on before I leave for the week.
First things first (a small rant). I went with my brother and some other students tonight to the Indians game. Overall, I had a very poor experience. We went tonight because it was 1/2 off night for those with college and high school IDs. Not a bad time to go I thought, so off we went. We were a bit late in starting, but not horrible. We got to the game and jumped into the HUGE lines (I found out later that tonight's game was the largest walk up ticket sales ever in the Jake's history). So, we get to the front of the line and asked for bleacher seats. Apparently, what they didn't say in the commercial was that they had blocked out certain sections for college night. Oh well. We take the only section that is in fair territory and go in. The seats were OK at best. For $11, not bad. If had paid 22, then I'd been upset. In the 6th inning, we moved to the next deck up. Much better. Hardly any people, no over hang, end of chlosterphobia. Then, the fights started right where we had just been. Glad we got out of there. Indians lose. We go back to the car and are forced out of the back of the lot. Then, I tried following the signs like a good example driver to the young impressionable minds and get bit in the butt. AHH. It took us at least 1/2 hour to get to the highway in what should have been 10 min. All in all, not a great night.
ANYWAY.... I am leaving on Saturday for Pass Christian, MS. I'll get there on Sunday evening due to a break in Nashville on Sat night. Please pray for us. There are 13 high school seniors, 6 leaders, and two vans to pack luggage/people. You do the math. I will be keeping a blog (updated every night, not like this one) for the week that we are there. You can find that blog by going to: http://www.the-chapel.org/katrina
That's all for now. Have a great week!
